About the Farm

Before us, it was owned by the descendants of Rev. Zandrock who was well known for his work in the Springfontein Concentration Camp.

The main house still has reminders of a flamboyant bygone era in its patterned-pressed steel ceilings and spacious rooms. The large gardens entice butterflies and birds to your doorstep. Breathtaking sunsets and starry night skies remind of the wonder of nature. Come and experience country life at its best...

The false Karoo vegetation and quaint hills give rise to the name of our farm "Boschrand". Our Guest Farm is part of a working sheep farm. As such we live close to nature. We strive to protect vulnerable species like the aardvark and aardwolf which inhabit our farm. Furthermore interesting antelope species like Springbuck, Gemsbuck, Mountain Reedbuck and Eland can be viewed in our area. An abundant bird life also waits impatiently to be appreciated.

We try to make eco-tourism practical by giving children hands-on contact with farm animals. They can feed a "hanslam" or help while the cows are being milked. In this way children learn to love and respect nature at Boschrand. We are also pet friendly.

For the adventurous - hiking and day walks will help you unwind. Or you can escape to the cool interior of a huge thatch roof lapa where the Karoo conviviality comes to life. A television lounge and cell phone range keeps you in touch with the outside world.
